Cetraro is a Tyrrhenian coastal town in Calabria’s Riviera dei Cedri Regional Marine Park. Its historic centre is a sea-facing terrace with a medieval defensive layout, tightly packed houses and narrow lanes; the regional tourism account says it was destroyed by Saracen pirates in 1534 and rebuilt after earthquakes. The town’s maritime character continues in Cetraro Marina, while the old Marinarìa quarter is associated with sailors, fishermen and the former Royal Neapolitan Navy boat-building arsenal.

For local outings, the Cetraro-specific cruising guide reports anchoring in 5–6 m off the beach immediately east of the harbour over sand, while the regional tourism source places the port within the Riviera dei Cedri marine area and names Lion’s Head Rock and Rizzo Cave on the Cetrarese coast.
