Which yacht broker do you need at Port Sigri?
Which broker do you need? If you are selling at Port Sigri, our seller’s broker helps set the asking price, prepares the listing and advertises it. If you are buying, our buyer’s broker can research the market, help you compare boats, negotiate and coordinate the survey and sea trial. And if you want one broker to look after the whole sale, our full-service broker does so and, where agreed in writing, can represent both parties. The detail of each follows.
Why choose us? We know this market. Our valuations draw on sales data for boats worldwide over the past three years, we advertise on over 20 international platforms, including YachtWorld, our brokers speak six languages, and we charge just 5% commission. At Port Sigri a local broker can visit your boat quickly, backed by our Athens head office. Get your free valuation and tell us which service you want.
Selling a yacht kept at Port Sigri? Our seller’s broker takes the work off you: a complimentary valuation, photographs and particulars, advertising on over 20 international platforms, the enquiries and the viewings. The agreement says what is included, how long it lasts and what commission is payable (just 5%), so there are no surprises.
Owners appoint a listing broker to market the yacht and look for a buyer. The work can include helping to decide an asking price, collecting the yacht’s details and photographs, preparing and advertising the listing, replying to enquiries and arranging viewings. The agreement between owner and broker should say whether the appointment is exclusive or open, its length, the commission payable and the services covered.
A limited service exists for sellers who need only a listing and marketing arrangement. Here the broker advertises the yacht and passes an offer to the owner, while negotiation and the rest of the transaction stay outside the broker’s responsibility. It is a legitimate, defined service, though not a description of every seller’s broker. Many guides include post-offer work: Horizon Yachts International sets out the deposit, survey and sea-trial stages, and YachtWorld says a broker may arrange the survey and sea trial.
The handover point matters, so ask before you sign. Who negotiates price and conditions? Who prepares or explains the paperwork? Who tracks deadlines and contingencies, arranges survey and sea-trial access, and coordinates closing, payment and the transfer documents? Tasks the broker leaves out may need separate professional help.
The listing broker acts for the seller. If you are a buyer contacting that broker directly, ask whom the broker represents and whether you should have your own representative. Another broker can bring a buyer through a co-brokerage arrangement, in which firms may share commission under their agreement, and the seller should check what that means for fee and service in their contract. This is why the profile is best read as a seller’s listing broker with limited scope rather than a definition of yacht brokerage. It holds equally at Port Sigri.

Buying a yacht abroad is easier with someone on your side. At Port Sigri, our buyer’s broker listens to what you want, finds suitable boats, helps you compare them and negotiate an offer, and keeps the survey, sea trial and closing moving. A local broker can reach any Greek marina in less than sixty minutes, and we speak six languages.
The buyer’s broker represents the purchaser in the hunt for a yacht. A typical search starts by establishing the buyer’s plans, preferred yacht type, size, budget, location and priorities. The broker can research the market, identify boats worth considering, gather details from listing brokers, review available records and help the buyer compare. Previews and remote viewings are offered by some buyer brokers, so the client can narrow the choice before travelling.
Once a particular yacht is selected, the broker can assist with preparing and negotiating the offer, explaining the process and its deadlines, and coordinating with the seller’s listing broker. Typical stages are a purchase agreement, deposit and escrow arrangements, an independent marine survey, specialist inspections, a sea trial and follow-up discussions. Coordination and communication are the broker’s contribution; the surveyor assesses the yacht, and the broker is no substitute for an independent technical inspection.
Brokerages that offer buyer services list research, negotiation, survey coordination, sea-trial arrangements and closing-documentation help among them. Curtis Stokes & Associates describes helping buyers research and preview yachts, prepare offers, negotiate and find surveyors and documentation support. HMY describes coordinating survey and sea-trial stages, post-survey discussions and closing. The precise scope varies from one broker to another, so settle with yours what it will handle and what you will.
Fees differ. The buyer’s broker may receive an agreed share of the commission through a cooperating listing broker, or the buyer may owe a fee under a separate representation agreement, so establish the fee, duration, scope of authority and any exclusivity in writing before the search begins. In return the buyer has a dedicated representative across a wider search, whichever brokerage lists the chosen yacht. Anyone considering a yacht near Port Sigri should ask these questions before appointing a broker.

Prefer one broker to manage everything? At Port Sigri our full-service broker handles the sale from assessing the yacht to closing and, if the parties agree in writing, represents both buyer and seller. The arrangement is written down so that each side knows whom the broker acts for.
A full-service yacht broker can run a sale from the first conversation with the owner to completion. The work may include assessing the yacht and its asking price, preparing photographs and particulars, advertising, answering enquiries, arranging viewings, passing on offers and helping the parties take an accepted offer through contract, deposit, survey, sea trial and closing. The agreement may also cover documentation, escrow arrangements, delivery and other practical matters. The listing and sale documents should set out the precise service.
Here the broker also works directly with the buyer and acts for both sides. The Yacht Brokers Association of America calls this dual agency: a single broker representing both parties in one transaction. Do not confuse it with a listing broker who assists a buyer but is still appointed by the seller. A buyer should have the broker explain the relationship before an offer is made.
Buyer and seller want different things. Generally the seller seeks the strongest price and terms, while the buyer wants a suitable yacht at a fair price and has to make informed decisions about its condition. One broker for both cannot negotiate privately for each side as two independent representatives would. The YBAA discussion stresses transparency about the arrangement and careful handling of confidential information. Because the rules and permitted arrangements vary by jurisdiction, the parties should rely on the written agreement and local advice.
Commission is often covered in the seller’s listing agreement, but not always in the same way, so a buyer should confirm whether any separate fee is owed. Keep the terms apart: full-service refers to the range of work, dual agency to the parties represented. Extensive transaction support is possible without representing both sides.
Athens is our head office and your first point of contact, and from there brokers serve the coastal regions and many marinas throughout Greece. The Athens team connect you with the broker responsible for your area, and our regional network means that broker can reach any Greek marina in less than an hour to arrange a visit to your boat and provide a no-cost valuation.
Owners and buyers at Port Sigri, North Aegean, deal with the broker for that area, and the same applies along the rest of the Greek coast. Our agents and delegates cover Attica, Central Greece, Central Macedonia, Crete, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Epirus, the Ionian Islands, the North Aegean, the Peloponnese, the South Aegean, Thessaly and Western Greece, and they can talk to customers and visit their boats quickly, working with the Athens head office.
You can begin by downloading the Sales Mandate and Evaluation Sheet. With the boat’s details and condition in front of us, we study the market and prepare a precise, evidence-based valuation, informed by three years of sales data for boats worldwide. Note that a valuation is an assessment of likely market value; the eventual sale price is not guaranteed.
When you appoint us, the regional broker takes over the work of finding a buyer, or of helping you find the right boat, and guides you to completion and the successful transfer of funds. Boats are advertised on over 20 platforms across Europe, which gives them visibility beyond the Greek market; international buyers can often help secure a stronger price than local demand alone. And because our brokers speak six languages between them, we can connect you with someone who speaks your language.
A boat berthed at Port Sigri is a boat in Lesbos, North Aegean, and its surroundings are part of the sale. Buyers want to know what the marina offers, what the town is like and what there is to do nearby, so we set out what is known about the marina and the area.
Sigri is a remote village located on the west coast of Lesbos, featuring an Ottoman castle that dominates its landscape. The area is known for its petrified volcanic terrain, with the Petrified Forest and petrified tree as well as the Genoese Castle at Sigri recognised as notable attractions. Lesbos, part of the North Aegean, offers a setting shaped by its geological history. The village includes several tavernas, such as Remetzo and Matravino, which serve local cuisine amidst the island’s distinctive environment.
Visitors to Port Sigri can explore the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest and Sigri Castle, both located in the village. Nearby, the islet of Nissiopi and local beaches are principal points of interest. The village provides food shops, tavernas and seasonal supplies to support visitors and residents. These amenities serve the needs of those buying or selling yachts in this part of the North Aegean.
The European Yacht Brokers archive lists boats for sale Port Sigri as local brokers add and verify them. A buyer’s broker can look further than the published list, and an owner can put a boat in front of buyers searching around Lesbos and in nearby ports.
Port Sigri on western Lesbos faces exposure to strong meltemi winds and Aegean swell, with partial protection provided by Nissiopi. It is among the cruising ports of Lesvos, offering access to numerous island anchorages including the nearby Cape Petinos. In settled weather, boats may cruise to Psara, Molyvos, Chios, and further anchorages along western Lesbos. The sailing season encompasses periods suitable for these cruising options.
Planning a trip to Lesbos to view or sell a boat? Tell the Athens team what you need and they will put you in touch with the broker for North Aegean, who can arrange a visit at the marina.

The listing broker represents the seller. A buyer who contacts that broker should ask whom the broker represents and whether to have separate representation.
It depends on the agreement. The broker may receive an agreed share of the commission through a cooperating listing broker, or the buyer may owe a fee under a separate representation agreement.
Not by default. A listing broker who helps a buyer with the sale may still be appointed to represent the seller. The written agreement decides.
The first call goes to the Athens team, who connect you with the broker responsible for your area.
We study the market using the sales data available to us for boats worldwide over the past three years and prepare an evidence-based valuation. It is an assessment of likely market value, rather than a guarantee of the sale price.
